"I really wanted to throw it, I really wanted to win." Oh Won-seok, who put in his old team's dagger, waited

It rained in the morning. It rained even before the game started. It was uncertain whether the game would start. However, Oh went in and out of the dugout and the ground and waited for the rain to stop. I wanted to be on the starting pitcher's mound. It was his first game against his team. 먹튀검증

Oh Won-seok played for SSG Landers until last year. Oh Won-seok, who wore the SK Wyverns uniform as his first rookie in 2020, played in SSG for five seasons before being traded to KT in October last year.

This reporter encountered his former team. At a match between KT Wiz and SSG Landers of the 2025 Shinhan Bank SOL Bank KBO League held at KT Wiz Park in Suwon on Sunday, the showdown took place. Oh was selected as the starting pitcher for the first game of the three consecutive games. However, rain on the day made the game uncertain. If the game had been postponed, KT manager Lee Kang-chul would have let out another pitcher the following day (July 23). Fortunately, the game started. Oh pitched well against his former team.

Throwing 90 pitches during six innings, Oh gave four hits, two walks, eight strikeouts and two runs, leading his team to a 9-3 victory. Oh won three games (one loss) this season.

After the match, Oh said, "It rained, but I wasn't relaxing because I thought I would still play. I really wanted to throw it." He continued, "I didn't know I would meet my friends so soon. After meeting them, I really wanted to lose and win. I'm glad I won."

He left the mound in a 2-2 tie. Oh Won-seok was able to become the winning pitcher as the batter gave three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning. "I was so happy when (Kim) Min-hyuk hit a timely hit. I was so happy that I didn't know what to do. I am so grateful to Min-hyuk," Oh said.

Coincidentally, Oh's starting showdown on the day was Kim Kwang-hyun. He was his idol when he was playing at SSG. Oh was also called the "second Kim Kwang-hyun" when he was playing at SSG due to his similar combination of sliders and changeups. Oh won the game by decision as Kim gave 10 hits, four walks and five runs (four earned) during five ⅔ innings.

Was he a student who surpassed his teacher? In response, Oh denied again, saying, "It's not like that." "Captor Jang Seong-wu gave me a good lead on his own. I just trusted and threw the ball according to Sung-wu's lead," he said.

After joining KT, he simplified his pitching form. He is on the verge of success. Oh had a QS start (more than six innings and less than three earned runs) in three consecutive games through Sunday's game. His last QS in three consecutive games was against the Kiwoom Heroes on Sept. 28, 2023 when he was playing at SSG, and against the Kiwoom Heroes on Oct. 13. He succeeded in making a comeback in about a year and a half.

"A lot of people are helping me. I'm getting help by talking to (the late) Young-pyo and (small) Hyung-joon a lot, and the coach and coach are really good to me. I feel like I'm gaining strength and working harder in the game. I think that's why I'm improving my performance," he said with a smile.

He then said, "I feel really good to win against the friendly team," but added, "I will prepare for the next game with the same mind."
